We had the pleasure of working with our friends from Muslims Against Hunger, Boston’s Young Muslims Engaging (BYME), and other members of the Boston and Greater Boston Muslim community to help fight hunger in Massachusetts. Together, we built a team of over 90 Muslims and raised close to $5,000 for underprivileged families in Massachusetts. Jazakallah to everyone who helped make this possible.
Today me and the curly headed monster set our sights on Boston. The weather was unusually nice so we took a trip into Downtown Boston. Then we headed over to the ISBCC for the mid day prayer. After the prayer we helped Masjid Alhumdulilah with their food pantry & capped off the day with I much needed meal at one of our favorite halal pizza places, Crispy Dough Pizza in JP.
We helped one of our favorite teen mentoring programs, BYME, with their fundraising table at the Ella Collins Winter Retreat, this past weekend. Great event put on @ISBCC
“Feed the hungry, visit the sick, free the captives.” With the support of those who have embraced our cause, we were able to help fill over 200 parcels at the food pantry in our local mosque. The IMSO food pantry gives out food to over 200 underprivileged families every second & third Sunday of the month. Thank you for helping us help others.
We helped to launch the BYME program this week. This is a great program that helps teens in the Boston Community by giving them the skills to reflect on and speak about their own identity and values as young Muslims in America. The program is designed to mentor teens and equip them with leadership skills that will help them translate their values into action as they design and implement their
own projects and initiatives.
